Our Service

The first report must be published by no later than 4 April 2018 on the employer’s website (and retained for three years).  It must also be uploaded to the Government’s website which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/report-gender-pay-gap-data.

Many employers have described this obligation as ‘complex, confusing, misleading and burdensome’.  As well as complicated calculations being required, the results often need sensitive presentation to avoid discrimination claims and bad feelings amongst employees as well as reputational damage. Our employment solicitors can ease this burden by:

  1. calculating your gender pay gap information for you, ensuring legal compliance
  2. preparing a Gender Pay Report that presents the required information and explains any discrepancies

The gender pay gap information that employers need to calculate and report is:

  • The overall mean and median gap in hourly pay between men and women;
  • The number of women and men in each pay quartile;
  • The difference in the mean and median bonuses for men and women in the last 12 months; and
  • The proportion of male and female employees who received bonuses in the last 12 months.

Our Approach

Our employment solicitors are dedicated to assisting and advising on how to achieve your business objectives in the most efficient and practical way. We pride ourselves on providing straightforward and bespoke advice tailored to your business requirements and resources.

We understand that employers need to be decisive and act calmly but quickly in the context of the current coronavirus crisis.

Your work will be carried out by a qualified solicitor in the team, who knows your business requirements best. Work is also carried out at the appropriate level, depending on the complexity, sensitivity and importance of the matter.

We work closely with our clients to ensure that we meet their expectations both in terms of their objectives and in relation to costs. We are aware that clarity on costs is vitally important to our clients, especially at a time when businesses are challenged by sudden and dramatic changes to economic circumstances.

As standard practice, we give our clients an estimate of the costs involved in undertaking any piece of work at the outset. We then provide cost updates on a regular basis. We are also happy to discuss fixed fees and retainer arrangements and agreements if that is helpful.
