Biography
Lianne is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution and Commercial Litigation department.
Lianne has experience handling complex commercial litigation, acting for a variety of commercial and individual clients. Lianne has particular expertise in commercial agency claims, acting for both agents and principals, and in shareholder disputes involving unfair prejudice claims and derivative actions.
Lianne also advises clients on a variety of other issues, including professional negligence claims against a range of professionals, contractual disputes, partnership disputes and claims involving restraint of trade and breach of restrictive covenants.
Lianne graduated from the University of Leeds with an LLB Hons (2.1) and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course with distinction at the University of Law in Manchester in 2013.
Lianne joined Myerson as a trainee solicitor in 2014 and qualified in the Commercial Litigation department in 2016.

Cross-Border Commercial Agency claim concluded at mediation
Representing the commercial agent in a significant claim under the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993 against a large manufacturer based outside of the jurisdiction. A substantial settlement was secured for the client at mediation.
Heavily contested Section 994 Petition
Representing a minority shareholder in a heavily disputed section 994 Petition under the Companies Act against the majority shareholder of the company. The parties were involved in several pieces of litigation with each other following the breakdown of a relationship, including regarding property, the child of the parties and a business. Lianne worked closely with the family department and ultimately negotiated a significant settlement in the client’s favour.
Complex professional negligence claim against an accountant
Acting for the Claimant in connection with a complex professional negligence claim against a firm of accountants for failure to advise. The accountant failed to advise the client appropriately regarding his pension fund and potential for tax savings following developments in pension tax legislation in terms of lifetime allowance and annual tax charge, resulting in a substantial loss to the client.
Arbitration of a Commercial Agency claim in the ICC
Conducting an arbitration of a claim under the Commercial Agents (Council Directive) Regulations 1993 through the International Chamber of Commerce. The claim was heavily contested, with the principal denying the applicability of the regulations, the validity of the agency agreement and therefore jurisdiction, the status of the agent and circumstances surrounding termination of the agreement. A settlement was ultimately secured for the client at mediation.
Six-figure contested insolvency application
Representing the Respondent in a contested insolvency application in connection with an outstanding debt in excess of £2,000,000.
Defending a football agent in a claim for breach of employment restrictive covenants
Acting for the football agent in a claim by his former employer, a sports agency, for breach of post-termination restrictions regarding the agent’s representation of a footballer. Lianne successfully avoided a costly trial as a settlement was ultimately reached at mediation to the client’s satisfaction.
Obtaining a freezing injunction to prevent the dissipation of an estate
Lianne successfully secured an injunction to prevent the assets of an estate, to include the sale proceeds of a property from being dissipated prior to the conclusion of a claim. The respondent originated from the Philippines and there was a real risk of the respondent returning to her home country with the estate assets and denying the client access to justice. Lianne acted promptly, successfully secured the injunction and ultimately a settlement in the client’s favour.
