We are proud to be an Employee-Owned Business

In September 2024, Myerson Solicitors made history as the first law firm in Manchester to become a fully employee-owned business.

The firm is entirely owned by an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), designed to benefit all our employees. This model means that every team member has a stake in our firm's success, which not only empowers our people but also helps us attract top talent and reinforce our people-first culture.

Myerson is a member of the Employee Ownership Association (EOA).

What does being Employee-Owned mean to our employees?

Benefits to our clients

As an employee-owned business, Myerson offers unique benefits to our clients. Our team’s enhanced commitment to the firm’s success translates into even higher levels of service and attention. Since 1982, we’ve proudly maintained our independence, and we’ll continue to uphold that legacy. Being 100% employee-owned ensures our stability and continuity, fostering reliable, long-term relationships with our clients. By maintaining our independence and nurturing our distinctive culture, we continue to deliver the personalised, high-quality service that our clients value and trust.

A Shared Purpose

At Myerson, we believe that the best businesses are built on shared purpose, genuine collaboration, and a commitment to long-term success.

Being employee-owned means that every member of the Myerson team has a stake in the success of our firm and a real voice in shaping our future. This structure not only strengthens our culture of trust, transparency, and accountability but also reinforces our commitment to delivering outstanding service to our clients.

At the heart of this transition is our people. From our newly formed Employee Engagement Committee to our dedicated Trustees, we’re creating a workplace where everyone feels empowered, valued, and heard.

Award-Winning Workplace Culture

“A truly modern firm built on a 100% employee-owned structure. A clear commitment to wellbeing, shared success and long-term sustainability. A compelling vision for the future of legal practice.” Proud winners of Best Place to Work – Law Firms at the British Conveyancing Awards 2026

What is an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT)?

Since their introduction in 2014 through the Finance Act 2014, Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) have seen remarkable growth in the UK. Created to encourage more companies to transition to employee ownership, EOTs provide a tax-efficient way for business owners to transfer ownership to their employees.

Trustees play a crucial role in this model, overseeing the trust and ensuring that it operates in the best interests of the employees. This approach has led to a significant increase in employee-owned businesses, with over 1,800 thriving across the UK, highlighting a significant shift towards more equitable and sustainable business practices.
