Myerson Solicitors has appointed Richard Lloyd as Chief Executive, with current CEO Carl Newton becoming non-executive Chair of the Board. The appointments mark the next stage in the evolution of Manchester's first 100% employee-owned law firm.
Richard takes up the role on 1st September 2026 after 26 years with Myerson.
Having led the firm's Commercial Property team before becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2019, he has worked alongside Carl for more than two decades, helping to shape Myerson's strategy, drive operational excellence and support its transition to employee ownership.
Leading Myerson into its next chapter
Richard will lead the firm's strategic direction and day-to-day operations, while Carl, as Chair of the Board, will oversee governance, safeguard the purpose and integrity of Myerson's Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) and continue to champion the firm's core values.
Today, Myerson ranks among the UK's Top 200 law firms and has established itself as one of the North West's leading independent legal practices.
Founded in 1982 and based in Altrincham, the firm advises businesses and individuals across the UK and internationally.
Employing around 165 people and generating annual revenues of more than £19 million, the firm's growth has been achieved entirely organically. In 2024, it became Manchester's first 100% employee-owned law firm, reinforcing its long-term commitment to independence, sustainable growth and investment in its people.
