Our Agriculture Team were delighted to attend the Cheshire Ploughing Match 2025, which took place at Hatley Farm in Frodsham on Wednesday 24th September 2025. The event is always a highlight in the rural calendar, and this year was no exception – helped along by a full day of glorious sunshine.
Held annually by the Cheshire Ploughing & Hedge-Cutting Society, the event is a key date in the rural calendar – bringing together farmers, landowners, rural businesses, and professionals from across the county for a day of competitions, demonstrations, and networking.
We shared a marquee alongside our trusted partners Afford Bond Chartered Accountants and Fazakerley & Sharpe, giving us the perfect opportunity to meet clients and contacts from across the agricultural community together. The day was filled with conversations about everything from farm succession planning and land sales, to the practical challenges that landowners and rural businesses are facing right now.
A True Celebration of Cheshire’s Rural Life
The Cheshire Ploughing Match was alive with activity from the early morning, with horse-drawn and tractor ploughing competitions, hedge-cutting demonstrations, trade stands, machinery displays, and a chance to catch up with friends and colleagues from across the county.
One of the highlights for us was seeing the strong turnout of local farmers and rural businesses. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the sense of community spirit was palpable throughout the entire day.
Why We Take Part
For us, being part of events like the Cheshire Ploughing Match is about more than showing up – it’s about showing our continued commitment to the farming and rural community here in Cheshire.
- For our clients, it’s a chance to catch up face-to-face, away from the office, and talk about the opportunities and challenges that matter most to them.
- For new contacts, it’s an introduction to Myerson and how our dedicated solicitors can support the agricultural sector with everything from property and land law to disputes and succession planning.
- And, importantly, for us, it’s a chance to listen and learn – to understand the issues affecting the industry firsthand.
Looking Ahead
We’d like to thank the organisers, the Cheshire Ploughing & Hedge-Cutting Society, and the Warburton family for hosting us at Hatley Farm. It was a fantastic day out and we’re already looking forward to next year.
To everyone who stopped by our stand – it was a pleasure to see you, and we look forward to catching up at the next Cheshire Ploughing Match in 2026.
