We act on behalf of a wide range of organisations, including public bodies, owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, investors, local authorities, and offer support throughout every stage of the procurement process. Including advising on the initial selection of the method of procurement through to the appointment of the design team and building contractor.
We know that good tendering and construction procurement is essential at to ensure the success of a project and is all about balancing the risk and apportioning it to the person best able to manage it. It is about identifying and appointing an appropriately skilled team, agreeing costs and a programme, deciding upon the appropriate forms of contract and achieving an appropriate distribution of risk between the parties.
We regularly advise on the choice of the procurement method for projects and the advantages and disadvantages of each. The choice of using a traditional method, design and build, construction management or management contracting can be evaluated having regard to your objectives and priorities.
This can include assisting in the tendering process to establish the risk matrix and negotiating or drafting the contracts or answering concerns and reviewing tender documentation.
If necessary we can also assist with phased programmes or works including early works agreements, two stage tendering and pre-construction agreements, separate demolition packages and how best to deal with these in the context of the main works to ensure a robust set of documents.
