Myerson is pleased to announce that its client, TMES Group Ltd (the holding company of Team ME Services Ltd), has successfully transitioned to employee ownership via an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). The transaction completed in May 2025 and marks another significant milestone in Myerson’s growing EOT advisory practice.

Established in 2017 in Salford by Adam Radford, Tony Murray, and Mike Allen, Team ME Services Ltd provides Mechanical & Electrical design and installation services to the construction and fit-out industry. Operating across the office, education, healthcare and retail sectors, the business has delivered projects for a strong client base including Overbury, ADT Workplace, Consensus Workspace, Urbanise Construction, and Peel/Landsec.

With two of the original founders now retired, the move to employee ownership ensures the continuation of Team ME’s ethos and approach without disruption. The transition allows the business to retain its existing management and operating model, providing confidence and continuity for both staff and clients. The EOT structure will be overseen by Independent Trustee Alistair Aird (IDT), alongside Board Trustee Adam Radford and Employee Trustee Susanna Sullivan.

As part of the new leadership structure, two internal appointments have been made to the board: Chris Owens and Paul Walkden now join Adam Radford as Directors, following Tony Murray’s retirement in May.

Commenting on the decision to become employee-owned, Adam Radford, Director at Team ME Services, said: “External investment or a sale were both considered, but ultimately, we felt these options could lead to uncertainty or disruption to our team and business culture. Transitioning to employee ownership allows us to preserve everything we’ve worked hard to build over the past eight years, and ensures the business continues in the same direction, with the same people. Myerson acted positively and professionally throughout the process, clear in their advice, proactive in meeting deadlines, and supportive at every stage. We were particularly pleased to have completed on schedule.”

Susanna Sullivan, Employee Trustee, added: “From my perspective, the transition to an Employee Ownership Trust has been seamless. It’s felt very much like business as usual, even as we’ve managed some changes within the team. There’s a renewed sense of shared purpose and motivation. It’s still early days, but the signs are very positive.”

Simon Nolan, Associate in Myerson’s Corporate Team, commented: “It has been a pleasure to support TMES Group on their move to employee ownership. The business has a strong, stable platform and a clear commitment to its people and clients, all of which makes it an ideal fit for the EOT model. We’re seeing growing interest from business owners who want to secure a long-term legacy while empowering their teams, and we expect this trend to continue.”

As of 2025, the UK Employee Ownership (EO) sector includes 2,470 employee-owned firms, together employing about 358,000 individuals. In 2024, 560 companies converted to employee ownership, with an additional 118 recorded so far in 2025. Since the current EOT legislation was introduced in 2014, the number of EO businesses has grown by 1,640%, highlighting the sustained appeal of this structure and ongoing government backing, most recently reinforced by legislative changes in the October 2024 Budget. The sector continues to be largely composed of small businesses, which make up 65% of the total.

Myerson’s Corporate Team worked closely with the client’s accountants, Ascendis, who provided tax and financial support throughout the transaction.
