Myerson has officially launched Myerson IMPACT, the firm’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative, alongside the publication of its first ESG report.
Myerson IMPACT brings together the firm’s long-standing commitment to supporting its people, community and environment through a clear and focused ESG strategy.
Employee Ownership and Collective Accountability
As a 100% employee-owned business, Myerson IMPACT reflects Myerson’s collaborative approach to governance, with people from across the firm playing an active role in helping shape its future direction through the ESG Committee and Employee Engagement Committee.
The newly published ESG report outlines Myerson’s environmental ambitions, including reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 34% by 2027, transitioning to 100% renewable energy and achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.
Turning Commitments into Action
The report also highlights the practical steps already being taken across the business. From diverting 100% of the firm’s waste from landfill and removing single-use plastics from meeting rooms, to supporting local charities, schools and community initiatives, Myerson IMPACT reflects the belief that every action can make a meaningful difference.
Supporting social mobility and creating opportunities for future talent also form an important part of the initiative, with Myerson continuing to invest in solicitor apprenticeships, trainee programmes, work experience opportunities and careers engagement with local schools and young professionals.
Employee wellbeing also remains a key focus of Myerson IMPACT, with the firm recognising that supporting the health, wellbeing and development of its people is an essential part of responsible governance and long-term success.
Positive Community Impact
Community impact remains central to the firm’s culture. Every employee at Myerson is given a paid volunteering day each year, enabling them to dedicate their time and expertise to causes that matter to them and generate social value within the local community.
Employees also support a range of fundraising and charitable initiatives throughout the year, including the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of Francis House Children’s Hospice, the Paint Altrincham Pink campaign for Prevent Breast Cancer, and donation drives for local foodbanks and charities.
Joanne Perritt, Head of ESG at Myerson, commented:
“Our dedication to ESG runs through everything we do, and Myerson IMPACT is how we turn that commitment into real, measurable change.
Since Myerson was founded in 1982, supporting our people, our community and the environment has always been incredibly important to us. Myerson IMPACT brings together the initiatives, values and ambitions that already exist across the firm and provides a clear framework for how we continue to grow responsibly in the future. As an employee-owned business, our people genuinely care about the impact we make, and that is what drives this initiative forward.”
