This October, colleagues from across Myerson will come together to take part in Cancer Research UK’s Shine Night Walk in Manchester, raising funds in memory of our much-loved colleague and friend, Barbara Allman.

Barbara sadly passed away in February 2026, surrounded by her family, following five years as a highly valued and important member of the Myerson Business Support team.

For anyone who visited the Myerson office, Barbara will be remembered as the friendly face who greeted them as soon as they walked through the doors. Behind the scenes, she was the master organiser who helped to keep our office running seamlessly.

Most importantly, Barbara was a wonderful colleague and friend who made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She is deeply missed by all of us at Myerson, and we are incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to work alongside her.

Walking together in Barbara’s memory

On Friday 2 October 2026, Team Myerson will take to the streets of Manchester after dark for the Shine Night Walk, Cancer Research UK’s night-time fundraising walk.

Colleagues from across the firm will be taking on two different challenges, completing either the 10 kilometer or half-marathon route.

We will be walking for the same reason: to celebrate Barbara’s life, remember the impact she had on our firm and raise as much as possible for Cancer Research UK.

The event will see our team join thousands of others in lighting up the streets of Manchester and supporting research that can help more people affected by cancer.

Myerson IMPACT

Our participation in the Shine Night Walk also forms part of Myerson IMPACT, our firm-wide commitment to making a positive difference for our people, our communities and the wider world.

Myerson IMPACT brings together our approach to responsible business and provides opportunities for colleagues across the firm to support causes that matter to them, contribute to our communities, and create a positive impact beyond our day-to-day work.

Taking on the Shine Night Walk together is a particularly meaningful example of that commitment. It gives colleagues the opportunity to support an important cause while coming together to remember and celebrate a much-loved member of the Myerson team.
