Biography

Dora Bumber leads the Risk & Compliance function at Myerson. She is responsible for the development and implementation of robust governance frameworks, ensuring firm-wide adherence to regulatory and ethical standards, including those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), and ensuring effective anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) controls.

Dora brings extensive experience in compliance strategy, audit and quality assurance, and regulatory risk management within the legal sector. She has held senior positions overseeing firmwide compliance operations, guiding internal stakeholders through complex regulatory landscapes, and embedding a culture of accountability and best practice across business functions.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in International Relations & Diplomacy with Law from the University of Derby and an MA in Security & International Law from the University of Manchester.

In addition to her academic credentials, Dora holds several professional certifications from the International Compliance Association, including:

  • International Advanced Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering (with Distinction)

  • Specialist Certificate in AI for Compliance Professionals

  • ICA Internal Auditor for Compliance Management Systems

Her background also includes contributions to the legal academic and advocacy community, such as serving as a judge in international moot court competitions. In earlier roles, she was active in student leadership and media coordination, demonstrating a long-standing commitment to communication, equity, and representation within institutional frameworks.
