The UK Government has recently published their UK COVID -19 Recovery strategy which sets out their plan to restart business including the property market with a phased recovery.

The Residential Property team at Myerson are fully operational and are working within a remote setting. They are providing the Myerson bespoke service, whilst adapting to the restrictions around social distancing and self-isolation. The progress of each transaction is being dealt with on a case by case basis as many residential property transactions can still be completed.  

Myerson are still very busy dealing with transfers of equity, re-mortgages, purchases by investors or transactions that involve an empty property. The buy to let  investment market (where no removals are required) is currently continuing as normal and Myerson’s team of specialists provide a straightforward and effortless process for the investor.

Myerson are continuing to progress ongoing transactions so they are ready to complete when all parties involved are able and willing to move, whilst minimising any risk.

Now that restrictions have in part been lifted, we will see new safety measures being  implemented by estate agents to allow property viewings to take place, these will no doubt continue to include virtual viewings which have continued throughout the period lockdown. The government has amended the COVID-19 regulations to make it clear that people can move home, should they wish to do so. This is provided all parties involved are flexible in relation to move dates and they should allow for extra provisions to be inserted into the contract in order to manage the risks involved.
