The Rural Payments Agency (“RPA”) have launched the ‘CAP Reform Countdown’ at the NFU 2014 Conference.
We attach a link below to the DEFRA Timetable which provides useful guidance on implementation of the CAP reforms over the next 18 months:
The 2014 claim will be completed on the current system. The 2015 claim will run on the new system (for payment in January 2016).
The RPA will also be launching a new online submission system in July this year.
Mark Grimshaw, Chief Executive of the RPA commented: “it will be a profoundly different experience for farmers”. The aim is for the new scheme to digital by default. Mr Grimshaw commented:
“Digital will be the fastest and most secure way but would also be able to proactively give you guidance and support”.
Based on lessons learned from disastrous SPS launch, DEFRA appear keen to launch the new digital based system in plenty of time to enable end users to interact with it and to iron out any issues that may arise as a result.
