Myerson Solicitors, the Altrincham-based law firm, has raised over £24,000 for the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham and the Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care in Stockport.

Myerson Solicitors has raised a total of £24,716.87 during a two-year period of charity initiatives, including cake sales, dress down Fridays, cycling challenges, a fashion show and the Cheshire Three Peaks Challenge, which was completed by a team of over 40 staff.

Andrew Chapman, Partner and Head of CSR at Myerson, said: “Every two years, all the staff at Myerson choose two charities from our local community to support.  Since the Summer of 2016, it has been our great pleasure to support the Counselling and Family Centre in Altrincham and the Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care in Stockport.  We are so pleased to have been able to support these charities and we have had a lot of fun as a firm over the past two years fundraising for them”.

Jo Allen, the Chief Executive of the Counselling and Family Centre, said: “The generous support of Myerson over the last 2 years, both in their stupendous fundraising events and in their much appreciated hosting of our meetings, has enabled us to continue to offer counselling free of charge to those on the lowest incomes.  Myerson’s funding has also allowed us to extend our services to include specialist counselling for those affected by trauma whatever the cause - an accident, an act of random violence or a sudden loss. We have also benefitted greatly from our association with Myerson who have raised the profile of our service and leveraged yet further support from other individuals and organisations. We, and the 2,100 men, women and children we supported over the period of Myerson’s involvement with our charity are so very grateful”.

Jo Davies from the Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care added: “The Weekend Day Centre was thrilled at being chosen as one of Myerson’s charities over the last 2 years.  Knowing their reputation working as a team, the effort, enthusiasm and time given through each event has been amazing.  We are a small charity and we depend on people and companies to support us.  It has been great to be invited along to some of Myerson’s events and seeing how much work has been involved to raise money for both us and the Counselling and Family Centre.  All monies raised help us to continue to provide our much needed day care and support to people living with dementia and their families”.
