We are excited to announce that our CEO, Carl Newton is celebrating a milestone year at Myerson.

In the same year he joined the firm;

  • Andy Cole became the country’s most expensive footballer
  • Mountain climber Alison Hargreaves became the first woman to ascend Mount Everest without oxygen or Sherpas
  • Boxer Frank Bruno won the WBC World Heavyweight Championship
  • And the film ‘Braveheart’ premiered

Guessed the year?

In 1995, Carl started his career at Myerson, having previously trained at Addleshaw Sons & Latham in Manchester (now Addleshaw Goddard).

25 years on, a quarter of a century later, as the firm’s CEO, we can look back at how far the firm and Carl have come. Take a look at the firm’s timeline here.

Celebrating his 25th anniversary, CEO Carl Newton said:

“In 1990 Neil Myerson, as the firm was known then, had 5 Partners and 20 employees working from a row of cottages in Altrincham.

Now, in 20,000 sq ft of grade A office space, we have grown to a team of 115 staff with 23 Partners.

Since we moved to our fully refurbished office, we have seen the firm and the team flourish, enabling us to provide our clients with high-quality legal services across a range of sectors.

Over the 25 years, that I have worked at Myerson, the collaborative ethos and culture of the firm remains the reason for the firm’s success. I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved together.

One of our greatest achievements has been the recruitment and growth of amazing individuals. Everything we do is about finding the right team to ensure we deliver the best service, in a personal, yet professional way.

Working and living alongside our clients, and involving ourselves in the community, is very important to the firm, enabling us to provide a more efficient, collaborative and partner-led approach, working as our clients’ trusted advisers and providing added value.

I can also say I am not the longest-serving Myerson team member at the firm, and I imagine that is quite rare within most businesses.”
