Altrincham commercial law firm, Myerson, is delighted to announce that Mark Gillies has joined the firm as a Partner in its Commercial Property department.

Mark joins Myerson from national firm Laytons, where he had been Head of Property in the Manchester office for over 8 years. Mark specialises in property finance and secured lending and has considerable expertise in advising on commercial property acquisitions and disposals.

The arrival of Mark adds further strength and experience to the existing team at Myerson headed by Partner, Richard Lloyd. Over the past 12 months, the firm’s Commercial Property team has been involved in a number of high profile property deals including advising Mosley Street Ventures in relation to No 2 St Peter’s Square, one of the most high profile developments in Manchester and advising Fortis Developments Limited on the purchase and subsequent sale of a substantial residential development scheme in Manchester’s Green Quarter.

In total, Myerson’s Property department now consists of five Partners, three Senior Solicitors, three Solicitors, a Trainee Solicitor and two Property Assistants.

Richard Lloyd, Partner and Head of Commercial Property at Myerson, said:

“We are delighted that Mark has joined us. Mark is a very well-known and respected figure in the North West property sector and adds further strength to our existing commercial property offering. More and more mid-sized and large businesses who have traditionally used more expensive City Centre lawyers are now instructing us as a credible alternative.”
