HS2 have decided to hold various drop-in events to enable members of the public to find out more about the project and exactly what this will mean for their local area.
Landowners, farmers and agricultural businesses will be particularly interested to know that although plans for the new railway between Crewe and Manchester are still at a relatively early stage, HS2 will be able to inform you of the likely next steps in the process based on their plans for the London to West Midland (Phase 1) and West Midland to Leeds and Manchester (Phase 2) routes. However, HS2 as confirmed that at this stage they are not in a position to provide details as to where the route between Crewe and Manchester will run, which is of course the most pressing issue to agricultural clients.
Nevertheless, the aim of the drop-in surgery is to provide all members of the public with the opportunity to discover more information about the project and what is likely to happen once the route is announced, including how they will be able to respond to consultations and how they can report their concerns to HS2.
The events will run from 9th May to 20 September 2016 at various locations throughout the north-west (please see table below).
Clients should note that it is also possible to arrange an appointment to speak personally with a representative from HS2 at one of these events by emailing your name and query to NorthWestEngagement@hs2.org.uk
