James has experience acting for a variety of clients across various sectors in a wide range of commercial property disciplines, including the acquisition and disposal of both investment and development properties, commercial lettings (acting for both landlord and tenant), and secured lending (acting for both borrower and lender).

James studied Law at the University of Manchester and gained an Upper Second Class honours degree. James then obtained a distinction in the Legal Practice Course from the College of Law Chester before training and qualifying at Field Seymour Parkes LLP in Reading. James then returned to Manchester, where he worked at Addleshaw Goddard, Pinsent Masons and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (formerly Berwin Leighton Paisner). James joined Myerson in 2018.

  • Acting for a multinational grocery retailer in the management of their extensive real estate portfolio, including conditional acquisitions and disposals, letting and asset management, and complex Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals;

  • Acting for a non-department public body in the conditional disposal of land to private developers and Councils;

  • Acting for one of the world’s largest rail vehicle and equipment manufacturing and servicing companies in a high value conditional disposal to a house builder for residential development;

  • Acting for a real estate infrastructure and transport investment group in connection with real estate solutions connected with both minor and major UK infrastructure projects;

  • Acting for global asset management groups and investment funds on the letting and asset management of their extensive portfolios and refinancing portfolios.
