The team
Our highly respected Family department at Myerson has gone from strength to strength in recent years and, due to expansion and an increase in workflows, is looking to add another member to the team. The team specialises in complex and high-value divorce and family disputes and is renowned for its client-focused and comprehensive legal advice. The team also works closely with a number of other departments within Myerson, ensuring they are well placed to provide comprehensive legal advice to assist clients on all commercial issues, taxation and trusts.
The role
The role will involve providing the highest quality advice across a range of privately funded family law matters and disputes including divorce and financial remedy issues, children and injunction matters, including surrogacy and fertility issues, cohabitee disputes and pre and post nuptial agreements.
We are looking for an experienced Family Associate/Senior Associate who is capable of taking on an existing caseload of family law matters and play a key role in generating new business for the department and the firm. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the team and be expected to contribute to the further growth and development of the department.
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will be someone with a good academic background and training in privately funded family work, who is looking to further develop their career and maintain a good quality of work in a team-orientated, collaborative and supportive environment. Candidates are required to have excellent all-around family law experience.
The successful candidate will come from a national, or leading regional firm and be used to dealing with a high net worth client base. We are looking for someone between 5 and 10 years’ PQE so this role would suit someone who is working at an existing Associate or Senior Associate level.
Candidates must be able to respond to clients' urgent requirements whilst maintaining and supporting the maintenance of a proper work/life balance. Candidates should have an ability and willingness to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and other departments of the firm. The role will also provide scope for the successful candidate to be involved in practice development not only for the family department but also for the other legal services offered by the firm.
