Biography

Andrew W L Brown is a Partner in Myerson’s Corporate and Commercial teams and Head of the firm’s Agricultural and Rural Business sector group. With over 28 years’ post-qualification experience, Andrew is a highly regarded corporate solicitor advising on complex transactions and strategic business structuring.

Andrew specialises in mergers and acquisitions, including the buying and selling of owner-managed and family businesses, private company investments, joint ventures, demergers and group reorganisations. He is particularly experienced in succession planning for family-owned businesses, advising on shareholder and partnership arrangements, family investment companies and long-term governance structures designed to preserve wealth and maintain business continuity across generations.

As Head of Agriculture, Andrew acts for farming businesses, landed estates and rural enterprises across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. He understands the unique commercial, tax and succession challenges facing agricultural clients and works closely with accountants, tax advisers and other professionals to deliver joined-up, pragmatic advice tailored to the rural sector.

Andrew also advises on partnerships and limited liability partnerships, share option arrangements and constitutional documentation, helping businesses implement robust frameworks that support growth, investment and risk management.

Recognised as a Leading Individual in The Legal 500, Andrew is valued for his calm, commercially focused approach and his ability to guide clients through complex transactions with clarity and strategic insight.

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in September 1997. Before joining Myerson in May 2012, he practised at major national and well-established regional firms. He holds a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Manchester and an MA in Southern African Studies from the University of York.

  • Acting for MGH Bowen Limited in connection with an investment by Breedon Aggregates England Limited into H.V. Bowen & Sons (Holdings) Limited which operates a grit stone quarry at Tan-y-Foel, Powys;

  • Advising in connection with the sale of a significant and high value collection of Batman toys;

  • Advising Fairhome Property Group PLC regarding the sale of multiple supported living SPV Companies and the purchase of other care home businesses;

  • Advising Evans Textiles (Sales) Limited in relation to the acquisition of Bridstock Gate Limited;

  • Advising a manufacturer of DIY products and separately a clothing distributor in connection with distribution and commercial agency arrangements;

  • Advising Randall Roberts Consultancy Limited regarding the acquisition of Cash Converters franchises.
